Much of my current research focuses on a relatively new individual difference construct called the Consideration of Future Consequences (CFC). This construct concerns differences in the extent to which individuals are influenced by the immediate versus distant consequences of their behavior. To date CFC has been found to influence attitudes and persuasion, counterfactual reasoning, health-related behaviors such as practicing safe sex and decisions to be screened for the HIV virus, and recycling. CFC is measured by the CFC Scale.
